Sportsman WO Stead Loses… His Hair
For WO Tony Stead losing is not a word he uses often. As Captain of the RAF Table Tennis Team he has recently led them to a 28th consecutive Inter Services Team title beating the Army in a highly competitive final.
However, WO Stead, the Practice Manager at the RAF Benson medical centre was prepared to lose… his hair, all in the name of charity. All his hair! Raising money for Children in Need he endured a total body waxing. After the painful experience for him, and what appeared to be fun for his staff, Tony said “I was delighted to do something unusual to raise money for Children in Need! The waxing was very painful in places but to raise £735 was a mighty effort by my staff and station personnel, and importantly, children will benefit from my effort.”
WO Stead is now preparing his table tennis players to defend the inter-Service men’s title for a 29th successive time in the New Year.
